Hi and welcome to my page.
My name is Leigh and I'd like to introduce myself to the world of book bloggers. I want to see if I can get better at reviewing the books I read and hopefully encourage others to give it a shot too.
As you can already see I'm pretty new to this, so please be patient with me. But while I'm here I'll give a little update on what I am currently reading.
Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas - I'm 10 chapters in and enjoying it so far. We've been introduced to the characters or at least the main ones and been given a quick overview of what's to be expected from the book. We follow a main character named Celaena as she is taken from the salt mines of Endovier to represent the Prince in a to-the-death completion. Not much else is known other than Celaena is a trained Assassin who was serving a life sentance after being caught.
Hopefully I will have more to update when I have completed this book. but for now, toodles :)

Night Watch!
Okay, So I'm not a book review kind of person, as let's be honest I'm terrible at them anyways. So here are a few books that I highly recommend. The books are by the late Author Terry Pratchett and are part of his well known Discworld series or collection. He has written over 30 novels all of which are no doubt just as amazing as the three I am about to share. The following books are from one of his mini series called 'city watch'. Although these are a series I have to admit I haven't been reading them in order, which I honestly would advise as they kind of spoil each other when read out of order.
So let's start. The order in which you should read this collection is-
Guards! Guards!
Men at Arms
Feet of clay
Jingo
The fifth elephant
Night watch
Thud!
Snuff
As you can see it's a pretty short collection. Now for the order I've read them in.
Thud!
The fifth elephant
Night watch (still reading this one :D )
Below you will see the cover images and the blurbs from the back of the books so no spoilers.
Thud! - Koom Valley? The was where the trolls ambushed the dwarfs, or the dwarfs ambushed the trolls. It was far away. It was a long time ago.
But if he doesn't solve the murder of just one dwarf, Commander Sam Times of Ankh-Morpork City Watch is going to see it fought again, right outside his office.
With his beloved Watch crumbling around him and war-drums sounding, he must unravel every clue, outwit every assassin and brave any darkness to find the solution. And darkness is following him.
Oh ... and at six o'clock every day, without fail, with no excuses, he must go home to read Where's My Cow?, with all the right farmyard noises, to his little boy.
There are some things you have to do.

The fifth elephant - They say that diplomacy is a gentle art. That mastering it is a lifetime's work. But you do need a certain inclination in that direction. It's not something you can just pick up on the job.
A few days ago Sam Vimes was a copper. An important copper - chief of police - but still, at his core, a policeman. But today he is an ambassador - to the mysterious, fat-rich country of Uberwald. Today Sam Vimes is also a man on the run.
He has nothing but his native wit and the gloomy trousers of Uncle Vanya (don't ask). It's snowing. It's freezing. And if he can't make it through the forest to civilisation there's going to be a terrible war.
There are monsters on his trail. They're bright. They're fast. They're werewolves - and they're catching up.
Night watch - 'Don't put your trust in revolutions. They always come round again. That's why they're called revolutions. People die, and nothing changes.'
For a policeman, there can be a few things worse than a serial killer loose in your city. Except, a serial killer who targets coppers, and a city on the brink of bloody revolution.
For Commander Sam Vimes, it all feels horribly familiar. He's back in his own rough, tough past without even the clothes he was standing up in when the lightning struck. Living in the past is hard. But he must survive, because he has a job to do. He must track down the murdered and change the outcome of the rebellion.
The problems; if he wins, he's got no wife, no child, no future . . .

TV Show - American Horror Story - Season 3 - Coven
Plot - Taken from Wikipedia - It's been around 300 years since the Salem witch trials. Those witches who remain are almost extinct and in danger once again. A school has opened in New Orleans to teach young witches how to protect themselves. The long-absent Supreme, Fiona (Jessica Lange), arrives to ensure the safety of the coven and their secrets. Fiona's daughter, Cordelia (Sarah Paulson), teaches at the school. Events reveal a long-held rivalry between the witches of Salem and the Voodoo practitioners of New Orleans, as well as a historic grudge between Voodoo Queen Marie Laveau (Angela Bassett) and socialite serial killer Delphine LaLaurie (Kathy Bates). The primary theme of the season is oppression; specifically, the oppression of marginalized groups. Other themes include witchcraft, Voodoo, racism, and family, such as the relationships between mothers and daughters. The season is set primarily in modern day and includes flashbacks to the 1830s.
I hope you enjoy my recommendations, and if you try any of them please feel free to comment below about what you thought of them.

Weekly Recommendations - Week One
Okay so I went from no posts, to overkill with the posts, but trust me this is my last one for now, ..... ok so that was lie.
On to the post. I've decided to do Weekly recommendations. Anime, manga, songs, movies, books, Tv Shows etc...
So here we go
WEEKLY RECOMMENDATIONS - WEEK 1
Anime - Kyoukai no Kanata - Complete
Taken from Wikipedia - The Plot - One day, high school student Akihito Kanbara instinctively goes to save his fellow schoolmate, Mirai Kuriyama from committing suicide. Following his pleas, Mirai suddenly stabs Akihito with a sword formed out of her own blood and is shocked to discover that Akihito is an immortal "half-youmu"—the offspring of a supernatural creature called a youmu and a human. After learning that Mirai is a Spirit World Warrior (異界士 Ikaishi?)—specialists who protect humans from being affected by youmu—and the last surviving member of her spirit hunting clan, their lives become intertwined as Akihito seeks to help Mirai gain the confidence to kill youmu so that she may stop attempting to kill him as practice.
Manga - Last Game - Ongoing
Taken from Mangafox - The Plot - Yanagi's dad is a president of a large hotel, he himself is handsome and clever, always wins the favor among girls. Moreover, he's always on the top of class and champions in all sports meetings when he was in primary school. But after he met Kujou, a transfered student, he had never savored the taste of victory in any single match with this girl for ten years. "Let's bid for final victory, Kujou." There here comes the last game. Will Yanagi fall in love with Kujou while he hates his competitor but cares so much about this girl?
Song - Monster - Rihanna and Eminem
Movie - The bridge on the river Kwai
I watch this film every year at Christmas, I don't know why but I guess it's kind of become a tradition with me and my parents. We also watch Zullu every year as well :D Love a good old fashioned war movie. The movie is a prisoner of war movie.
Book - Thud! by Terry Pratchett
Taken from the back of the book - THUD! Koom Valley? That was where the trolls ambushed the dwarfs, or the dwarfs ambushed the trolls. It was far away. It was a long time ago. But if he doesn't solve the murder of just one dwarf, Commander Sam Vimes of Ankh-Morpork City Watch is going to see the battle fought again, right outside his office. Game - Pokemon X
Not much I have to say about this game, other than it's a brilliant addition to the Pokemon game franchise. I love it.
And finally
TV Show - Witches of East End
Not much to say about it other than it's well worth watching if you love witches ans Asgardian folk tales (no Thor, sorry)
I hope you like my recommendations, feel free to leave me a message if you try any of the above, I'd love to hear your opinions. :D Okay bye bye now :3
